PE & SCHOOL PROGRAMMES
Why High-Quality Physical Education Matters More Than Ever?
In today’s climate, the value of Physical Education (PE) in primary schools has never been more important. Research by Sport England shows that less than 50% of children aged 5–16 are meeting the Chief Medical Officer’s recommendation of at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day. This figure fell even lower during lockdown periods, with only 19% of children managing to stay active for an hour or more each day during the height of restrictions (Sport England, Active Lives Children and Young People Survey).

This inactivity has contributed to rising concerns around children's physical health, mental wellbeing, and overall development — making high-quality PE provision a priority for schools across the UK.

At PS Sports, we are committed to raising standards in Physical Education by delivering engaging, inclusive, and high-impact PE lessons. We provide schools with:
-
A complete PE curriculum tailored to the national framework
-
Detailed Schemes of Work and termly planning documents
-
Assessment tools to track pupil progress and development
-
Delivery from highly qualified PE specialists
Our PE & school programmes are coordinated by Peter Smith, a UEFA A Licensed Coach, former professional footballer and experienced manager. Peter has over 25 years of experience in delivering PE and sports education in both professional and school settings, including time coaching at academies such as Liverpool FC, Stoke City, and Blackpool FC.

Peter has also worked extensively across primary schools in the Sefton area, helping to embed a culture of physical activity, skill development, and confidence-building through sport. His holistic approach ensures children enjoy physical activity while developing key life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
